Malibu: The area of Malibu could very well be the number one place where the stars live. This incredible coastline is well known for its beautiful Malibu Beach in western Los Angeles county. Santa Monica: Santa Monica is well known as the fun beach lifestyle experience. The city lies next to Santa Monica Bay. A famous Santa Monica Pier was built in 1909 and allows visitors to walk out over the ocean.

Big Sur: Big Sur is an area along the Central Coast of California where the Santa Lucia Mountains meet the Pacific Ocean. "Big Sur" is derived from "the big south" in spanish. What makes Big Sur such a tourist spot is how high the mountain range is right next to the ocean. Big Sur is sparsely inhabited and is more of a tourist spot.
Santa Cruz: Santa Cruz is a city along the Central Coast of California south of San Francisco. Santa Cruz is known for its natural coastal beauty and its liberal social views. The famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is California's oldest surviving amusement park and a popular tourist destination.
Bodega Bay: Bodega Bay is a long the northern coastline of California and is a shallow water inlet. The San Andreas Fault runs through the bay.
Carlsbad: Carlsbad is a coastal community south of Los Angeles and north of San Diego. Carlsbad is known for its resort homes, 7 miles of coastline, and 3 lagoons. Many businesses have Carlsbad as their corporate headquarters.
Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey: Also known as Carmel is in Monterey County California. Carmel is well-known for its natural, picturesque scenery. Early Carmella history was one of an artist community. Monterey is the home of world-famous pebble beach golf course.
Morro Bay: Morro Bay is a waterfront city in San Luis Obispo County. There is also a large estuary along the northern shores of the bay called Morro Bay. Morro Bay Harbor is a small water craft harbor.
Coronado: Coronado is a Southern California city on a peninsula. Coronado is often referred to as an island. The much photographed beach resort Hotel del Coronado was first open in 1888 and is listed as a National Historic Landmark. Coronado Beach is often included on the list of top American beaches to visit.
Crescent City: Crescent City is located at the far northern coastal region of California only twenty miles from the Oregon border. It gets its name from the crescent shape of its sandy beach. Because of the area's topography, tsunami warnings are possible.
Del Mar: Del Mar is a beach town in southern California, in San Diego County. Del Mar is Spanish for "by the sea". On the south side of Del Mar is the Los Peñasquitos Lagoon.
Eureka: Eureka is the largest California Pacific coastal city north of San Francisco and is the county seat of Humboldt County. Eureka has the beautiful Humboldt bay and world famous Coast Redwoods near to the city.
Fort Bragg: Fort Bragg is a coastal city in Mendocino County of only 2.8 square miles and about 7,000 people. Located on a site name after Captain Braxton Bragg and was started in 1857.
Mendocino: Mendocino is just a few miles south of Fort Bragg. Mendocino is a very small town of about 1000 and is very popular with vacationers because of its scenic beauty.
Half Moon Bay: Half Moon Bay is a small Crescent shape Bay along the coastline of San Mateo County. Mavericks is a very popular surfing location that is just a couple miles north of half moon bay.
Laguna Beach: Laguna Beach is in Orange County California and the very popular seaside resort and community. The land of community of Laguna Beach rises quickly from the shoreline. Laguna Beach is well-known for its artist community.
Long Beach: Long Beach is a large city in Los Angeles County along the Pacific Coast. Long Beach is a prominent maritime center of the country. The Port of Long Beach is the nation's second largest shipping port.

San Clemente: San Clemente is a coastal town between Los Angeles and San Diego and resides in Orange County. San Clemente is Spanish for village by the sea.
